CE News 9 Feb 25
Happy February! With the cold outside, it is a great time to stay inside and practice. Some of the music sure has some tricky bits, so this is where sectionals come into play: a group meets together to work through those parts which brings confidence to the section. The alto group is very good at this and is a positive influence for the rest of us. Good job, alto's!
Last week Diane asked for volunteers to sell ads in our program. Shawna volunteered (THANK YOU) but we need two more people to help out with this. As we are based in Sooke, we need people from Sooke to speak to friends and business owners to purchase a small piece of space. These ads add to our bottom line and allow us to hire musicians for the shows, so it is very necessary. If there are three people, the weight of the job is lighter, so please speak to Diane about this volunteer opportunity. It isn't a hard job, and you have a booklet to show what the ads will look like. People want to support the arts, so please reach out. We hope that everyone in Choral Evolution will be part of this amazing volunteer run organization; we can't do it without you.
Sickness is all around us lately, so please be aware and careful: washing your hands often is a great way to decrease risk. If you are unsure of CE wellness policy, please refer to the "policy and procedures" tab in the members area.
We were reminded by Andre to remain quiet when he is working with another section: it is distracting when another part is sung while the one section is working to find their notes. Please remember this and be courteous of your choir mates.
We will be meeting at the school in Langford this week. It is a bit cold in there, so remember to dress warmly. With all the bodies in there, it will heat up. See you on Wednesday!
