CE News 2 February 25
Hey, everyone. I don't know how you feel, but I'm pretty excited about our new music and how it is coming together so quickly; this allows us to perfect the music together. The beginning of Creep just sends shivers down my spine with the Tenor and Bass parts taking the lead. Great work! You can certainly tell that everyone has been reviewing their music as it shows when we put it all together. I'm awed at the effort, so keep up the good work! Sue has done amazing work obtaining all the tracks, so thank you Sue.
Our seating arrangement seems to change on a weekly basis, which is challenging. Andre will be working on a seating chart to help us solidify our spots and maximize the sound we produce. The people you are next to get used to hearing your voice, so movement requires us to relearn sounds; it is advantageous to get to know your neighbors sound so having structure early on is perfect. Once the seating plan is out, if you have great issues with where you are placed, please follow up with your section leader or Andre.
Did you see that there are 3 pieces that we are to try to be off book? From Andre's notes last week: I would like to do “Hair”, “Golden Slumbers” and “Bohemian Rhapsody” from memory. If we start to memorize them now, we will have it by the end. You can do it! It helps to read the words over and over without music, and then work with the music.
Thank you again to our "chair-puter-uppers" and their helpers. Thank you Paul for taping each of the rehearsals. Did you find them yet on the website in the members area? They can be found in the "Practice Tracks" button, and look for the "Rehearsal recordings!". They are a great tool to review what we just did.
Have a great time rehearsing as it's too slippery to go outside! Or sing while you shovel your driveway! That works too.
