CE News 16 February 2025
Happy Family Day weekend everyone. Even though the rain has returned, it is really nice to see the snow disappear. With an extra day off (for those working) it might be a good time to toss in a bit more rehearsal. Some of this music is hard! I think I have reviewed specific areas about 12 times...and my family is hoping for me to go outside to rehearse now. Keep up the good work of rehearsals, everyone. It shows when we come together. And work at staying healthy....it is cold season, so try your best to stay well.
Diane has shared some news about our show venues, as the snow did some damage to the places we planned to sing at.
Our first concert will be held at the Sooke Community Hall on May 2nd. We always hold a dress rehearsal at the first venue we will perform in and the dress rehearsal has always been held the Wednesday prior to the Friday concert. Unfortunately the hall is not available to us on Wednesday, April 30th so we have booked our dress rehearsal for Tuesday, April 29th, from 6:00-9:15 pm. With 2 1/2 months notice of this change, we sincerely hope that all members will be able to attend. If you currently have a commitment for that evening, please try to make alternate arrangements as it is very important that all choir members are present for the final rehearsal (dress rehearsal). Thank you. Updates to the calendar will be made.
The temperature at Centre Mountain Lellum school will be adjusted to accommodate us not freezing to death there. The system was not adjusted for our presence, and Diane has advised the school of this error. Thanks Diane!
A reminder that our first long rehearsal will be 8 March at St Rose of Lima church in Sooke from 9 until 1, so mark your calendars. As we have a long day of it, we would like to ask for volunteers to bring goodies for coffee break; CE will supply coffee, tea, creamer and sugar. If you would like to volunteer, please email choralevolution@gmail.com. Thanks!
Remember to check out Andre's notes, and happy rehearsing!
